Holly Hunter was an American actor who was famous due to her roles in films Broadcast News The Firm The Piano The Incredibles. Her work has been recognized with numerous awards for her work, including an Oscar. Her career in acting started with Broadway through a myriad of Broadway as well as Off Broadway projects. Since her childhood, she has been passionate about performing. She was Helen Keller as a fifth-grade student in a school production. As a result of having mumps, she became deaf in one of the sides of her ears. This did not stop her ambition to be an actress. She was a drama major at the college before moving from Pittsburgh and moved to New York City to follow her dream. Hunter was trapped in an elevator with the playwright Beth Henley when she met her. Together they created Broadway Crimes of the Heart which marked Hunter's Broadway debut. When she moved into Los Angeles she tried to find film roles, and was able to secure the role of a co-star in Swing Shift. Since then she has appeared in many TV movies and series throughout a span of more than three decades. Holly Hunter was awarded a Hollywood Walk of Fame Star and also the Women in Film Lucy Award.
